About
Navigate | Health Advocacy for Seniors
Navigate is an organization founded on the principle that seniors, and their families, deserve control of their healthcare.
After 30 years in nursing, our founder, Amy Athey, saw firsthand how easily seniors can fall through the cracks of our healthcare system. Through Navigate, we step in as a private clinical ally for families, auditing medical histories, coordinating with doctors, and ensuring proper preventative care is in place. Essentially, we offer total peace of mind that one's health is being managed by an expert.
Founder
Amy Athey, MSN-ED, RN, CCM
Amy graduated with her nursing degree in 1996 and practiced in several clinical settings, from labor and delivery, trauma/general surgery, to ICU in-patient hospital care. She also has experience as a clinical nurse supervisor for Emory Healthcare. Since 2007, she’s worked as a nurse health educator and case manager, supporting organizations in making their workforce more healthy. She went back to school in 2018 to focus on nurse education and advocacy, and graduated with honors in 2022 with her Masters in Nursing Education. Her capstone project was a deep dive into the healthcare challenges faced by seniors. It was the experience working on that project that inspired her to build Navigate to provide much-needed support for eldercare and senior health.
